In the 19th century, a woodblock artist called Hiroshige created a famous series of prints based on the 53 post stations along the Tokaido road. A decade later, another woodblock artist called Kuniyoshi Utagawa came along and created a print in homage to Hiroshige's work, by depicting the 53 stations as - cats. Yep, Kuniyoshi would have been right at home on the modern Internet.
