Austen's Hamlet HW Toasties - Limited

These illustrations were created by John Austen for a luxury illustrated edition of Shakespeare’s ‘Hamlet’ in 1922. Austen was clearly influenced by the graphic style of Aubrey Beardsley, and his depictions of Hamlet’s most epic scenes are at once macabre and strangely beautiful.
