About us

Hey there, we’re BlackMilk – an authentic, high-energy brand from Brisbane who have been disrupting the alternative pop fashion scene since 2009. We’re all about amplifying the voices of those who refuse to be labelled, empowering customers to express their truest selves through fashion.

Our journey began at a kitchen table with a few dollars and a whole lot of passion. Who knew that putting epic prints on leggings could be the start of a cult-like following? (Well, we kinda did !)

Fast forward to today: we’ve got more than 50 talented team members, epic collaborations with icons like Pokémon, Netflix, Warner Bros. and Nintendo, 1.1M followers on Instagram, and the most passionate community in existence ! 15 years on (and counting), we’re still throwing down fresh and innovative designs that celebrate individuality and bring self-expression to life.

The process of bringing our clothing to market is pure magic . We produce some pieces right here in our Brisbane HQ, allowing our team to experience the entire process – from design to production to eCommerce. This end-to-end approach has opened doors for many of our team members to explore new career paths and pivot career directions.

Our values

Culture is a word used to describe people’s ‘way of life’, meaning the way groups do things. Every company has a culture, but here at BM, we have something truly special. Our values are the foundational pillars of our culture. They exist to bring our vision to life, and to help create a focused, united and harmonious way of working (aka doing what we love) 🤝🧡.

Our team lives and breathes our brand and brand values, but we are also deeply passionate about the world around us, so when it comes to sustainability we are always looking for ways to reduce our environmental footprint.

We ship our products using bags made from ocean-bound plastics and keep our manufacturing efficient - minimising fabric wastage and recycling as much as possible. We love that we have a thriving community that actively buys, sells, and swaps BM pieces to ensure our products are like cats who get nine lives!
