What was the inspiration behind this artwork?

"When we’re young, a lot of us look up to adults seemingly running the how of our life – as if they have all the answers. For me those voices weren’t filled with wisdom, they were filled with insults. They told me my dreams were worthless, that I’d never make it, that I should give up before I even started. The doubt fuelled my ambition. I never listened. Stay true to yourself, even if the world tries to break you down. It is a reminder of anyone chasing their dream: never obey fools, instead follow your heart’s path and appreciate all the characters in your life, for they are the ones who shape you." Gus Fink
