Ethereal and delicate, this 1912 watercolour painting by Scottish artist Margaret Macdonald Mackintosh depicts three exquisitely dressed maidens gathered around a lily, with drops of coloured perfume raining down from them.

– Made from a floaty sheer mesh fabric that is lined to the top of the second tier
– Two tiers for extra swishiness
– Side splits in the bottom tier
– Not quite a midi, not quite a maxi, this skirt falls in between these lengths, around mid-calf
– Elasticated waistband
– Unhemmed skirt for the perfect flow
