Gustave Doré was well known for his incredibly detailed depictions of epic Biblical scenes, illustrating editions of John Milton’s famous poem ‘Paradise Lost’ as well as the Bible itself. This print is made up of several of Dore’s angelic scenes – and by ‘angelic’, we mean Death, Satan and Beezlebub, and a vision of Hell opening up to receive the fallen rebel angels. Yep.
