While it wasn’t uncommon for Qing dynasty books and paintings to be adorned with intricately woven tapestries, this particular tapestry was created for the cover of an essay written by the Qianlong Emperor himself. As a result, the dragon and flower design is especially ornate, rendered in the finest silk and gold thread – so this print is perfect for when you want to feel extra fancy.
