Why is a raven like a writing-desk?

Sir John Tenniel’s 19th century illustrations have become synonymous with Lewis Carroll’s classic fantasy tale Alice In Wonderland. This one depicts the delightfully absurdist tea party hosted by the riddle-loving Mad Hatter.
