The renown Christmas imagery of the nutcracker was born in 1892 in the ballet choreographed by Marius Petipa. Although not initially a success in itself, the ballet's score by Tchaikovsky was well-loved from the beginning and drove the production forward until The Nutcracker became one of the most popular ballets in the entire world. If you feel like getting in the Christmas spirit and having something stuck in your head for the rest of the day, go listen to Tchaikovsky's suite from The Nutcracker -- particularly the famous Dance of the Sugarplum Fairy.
We love this print not just because it represents of one of the greatest seasonal ballets ever written, but the vibrant colours make this piece fantastic for rocking during every holiday celebration.
